PostSubject: Stuff from The 90's   Sat 19 Aug - 11:58

Someone emailed me this.

Anybody under the age of 13 should not read this, and if you do, you should not repost this.

Just because you were born in '97 doesn't mean you're a 90's kid.

It's not like you could remember the original Simpsons. I am sorry but three conscious years of the 90's just wont cut it.

You're a 90's kid if:

U remember watching Doug, Ren & Stimpy, Pinky and the Brain , and Two Stupid Dogs.

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCHE!

You just cant resist finishing this... "Iiiiiiin west philladelphia born and raised..."

You remember TGIF on ABC. Step by Step, Family Matters, Dinosaurs, and Boy Meets World.

You remember when, 2Pac and Selena died.

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.

You remember reading "Goosebumps"

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

You remember the craze, then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...

You used to listen to the radio all day long just to record "Your FAVORITE song of ALL time"

Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? was both a game and a TV game show.

Captain Planet. He's a Hero.

You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green Ranger were meant to be together.

You remember when super nintendo's and Sega Genisis became popular.

You always wanted to send in a tape to America's Funniest Home Videos... but never taped anything funny.

You remember watching home alone 1, 2 , and 3........and tried to pull the pranks on "intruders"

You remember watching The Magic School Bus, Wishbone, and Reading Rainbow on PBS.

You remember when Yomega Yo-Yos were cool.

You remember those Where's Waldo books..

You remember when Mortal Kombat wuz tha shit!

U remember eating Warheads.(those sour candys)

You remember watching the 1st Batman, Aladin, Ninja Turtles, and 3 Ninjas movies.

U remember Ring Pops.

U remember drinkin' Fruitopia and Surge.

if you memeber when every thing was "da BOMB"

when they made the new lunchables so that you could make tacos and pizza!!

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players

Writing M.A.S.H. notes. (and the twenty different versions of that)

Making those little paper fortune cookie things.. and then predicting your life with them.

You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell"

You played and/or collected "Pogs"

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere

You haven't always had a computer, and it was cool to have the internet.

You watched the original cartoons of Rugrats, Power Rangers, and Ninja Turtles.

You had a favorite New Kid on the block, and you knew all of there names

Yikes pencils and erasers were the stuff!

All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.(pencils.notebooks.binders.etc.)

You remember when the new Beanie Babies and talking Elmo were always sold out.

You collected those Beanie Babies.

You remember a time before the WB.

You collected all the Troll dolls

You owned a portable tape player.

If you even know what an original walkman is.

You remember wanting to sit on the orange Nickelodeon couch.

You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

You know the Macarena by heart.

"Talk to the hand" ... enough said

You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"

You know the significance of the number 23.

You went to McD's to play in the playplace.

You remember playing on merry go rounds...at the play ground.

When we were younger:

Before the MySpace frenzy...

Before the Internet & text messaging...

Before Sidekicks & iPods...

Before MIKE JONES...

Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX...

Before Sponge Bob
...Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.

When light up sneakers were cool.

When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.

When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.

When we recorded stuff on VCRs .

When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off our walkmans.

When 2Pac and Biggie where alive.

When the Chicago Bulls were the best team ever.

Way back.

when it was all about N64.

Yes, I mean, hell, you can’t even see half these shows anymore without going to YouTube or buying DVDs.

“on the playground is where I spent most of my days, relaxin’ and maxin’ and actin’ all cool while shootin’ some b-ball outside of the school..”

Simba wrote:

Yes, most definitely yes. Even to this day, the terms “Did I do that?” and “Not the mama!” still bring a chuckle to me.

Simba wrote:
You remember when it was actually worth getting up early

… or more importantly, you remember when said cartoons weren’t all from another country, and the only computer generated show was ReBoot.

Simba wrote:
You remember reading "Goosebumps"

had a whole shelf full of those bad boys, they were what got me into my love of reading ^^

Simba wrote:
Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? was both a game and a TV game show.

Came really close to actually capturing Carmen once during one of the games, but didn’t get enough evidence in time. *sigh* … and the animated series just rocked. ‘nuff said.

Simba wrote:
Captain Planet. He's a Hero.

.. and not just Ted Turner’s secret identity, as seen on ‘Robot Chicken’

Simba wrote:
You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green Ranger were meant to be together.

… and when the team and theme song lasted for more than one season. The fact that the original series has not been released on DVD is a crying shame.

Simba wrote:

Simba wrote:
You always wanted to send in a tape to America's Funniest Home Videos... but never taped anything funny.

… and when Bob Saget still hosted the show, it’s never truly been the same without him

Simba wrote:

Hell, I remember when Maculy Culkin was the ONLY Home Alone kid. What child from that time didn’t look themselves in the mirror, slap both hands against their cheeks, and scream like a complete idiot?

Simba wrote:
You remember watching The Magic School Bus, Wishbone, and Reading Rainbow on PBS.

… oddly enough, the Wishbone themesong is stuck in my head now…

Simba wrote:
You remember those Where's Waldo books..

... all I can say is, anyone who says they found Waldo on the page that is literally covered in his trademark red and white stripes LIES! They trick you with that one, I swear it!

Simba wrote:
You remember when Mortal Kombat wuz tha shit!

ah yes, the days of when blood came out in blobs, and people were still used as actors in video games for realism… then again, not a day goes by that I don’t look at some idiot who annoys me, and wanna either yell “GET OVER HERE!” before shooting my hand out, or wish for the announcer to bellow “FINISH HIM!” before busting out with some insanely messed up finishing move that would render them a bloody spot on the pavement…. And to think, I grew up in a Christian home XD

Simba wrote:
U remember eating Warheads.(those sour candys)

dude, I was the king when it came to eating those at my school, I still hold the record for having the most of those little bastards in my mouth for a minute without flinching (three of the snack bags from the vending machines, it’s amazing my tastebuds are worth anything today XD)

Simba wrote:
You remember watching the 1st Batman, Aladdin, Ninja Turtles, and 3 Ninjas movies.

Hell f’n yes! God, it was a good time to be alive and go to the movies!

Simba wrote:
if you remember when every thing was "da BOMB"

and thinking you were “da BOMB” everytime you acted black, even though you were the token fat white kid in a school that was like 3/4ths hispanic

Simba wrote:

hell, I remember when Hot Pockets, pizza rolls, and Bagel Bites came out… simply put, greatest microwavable foods EVER!

Simba wrote:

Simba wrote:

to this day Screech is STILL the biggest badass alive, VIVA LA GEEKS!!

Simba wrote:

had the pog maker, and went insane with it

Simba wrote:

sadly, never got to enjoy the digital pet craze, despite being a Digimon fanboy… speaking of, remember when the Digimon was put out as the tough boys version of the Tamagotchi?

Simba wrote:

Yes, and nowadays, people wonder how we enjoyed ourselves BEFORE chat rooms, MP3 downloads, and pirating movies and stuff online

[quote="Simba"] You watched the original cartoons of Rugrats, Power Rangers, and Ninja Turtles.

Simba wrote:
You remember when the new Beanie Babies and talking Elmo were always sold out.

you also remember before Elmo’s World consumed Sesame Street, the Cookie Monster was still the Cookie Monster, and everyone didn’t think Bert and Ernie were gay lovers

Simba wrote:
You collected those Beanie Babies.

Actually got a big soft lion one, and got the Princess Di one dirt cheap in New York City! XD

Simba wrote:
You remember a time before the WB.

and then, Steven Spielberg said “Let there be Freakazoid!” and it came, and it was good..

Simba wrote:

If you even know what an original walkman is.

Kids today have it too easy, they can just program their music.. INTO THEIR F’N CELLPHONES. Kids back then didn’t have MP3 players, hell, kids didn’t walk around with Cellphones. You had the walkman, you had tons of cassette tapes, half of which were probably recordable, and you searched the radio and ENJOYED IT!

Simba wrote:
You remember wanting to sit on the orange Nickelodeon couch.

If I ever make enough money to do so, I WILL own a couch like that one day.

Simba wrote:

Amen, my brother, preach it! When peeps didn’t knock boots at every possible chance, and post half of it on the internet with their cellphones, there was no Bling Bling, no one was Crunk, when WWE was the WWF and WCW and ECW were still on the air and not owned by a single company, anime wasn’t mainstream, and the best part of it all, there were still sitcoms on TV….. AND NO REALITY SHOWS!!!!

Simba wrote:

It’s even lamer that they can continue to get TV shows even though they have the brains and creative capacity of a can of Spam… actually, I take that back, the Spam has a higher I.Q., so that’d be an insult to the poor luncheon meat.

Don't forget that back in those good old days, Megaman was a robot, not a computer program. Ahh, those were the days when Cartoons were good and original. And this was when Disney animation was at its best.

They're Pinky and the Brain
Yes, Pinky and the Brain
One is a genius, the other's insane
They're labratory mice
Their genes have been spliced
They're Pinky
They're Pinky and the Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, BRAIN.

Simba you just listed just about everything I loved about the 90s. God I miss that stuff. They should have a TV channel or two devoted entirely to that stuff. God TV has gone down hill. Why for the love of god are there so many news channels. Like I really want to listen to a death count in some country on 50 different channels. Ugh! Who here says we should bring back the 90s or make a time machine to go back there our selves?

I think I actually liked the 90's almost as much as the 80's....

ah CRAP. Now I know I'm old, if I'm reminiscing a full decade before everyone else.

I miss Voltron, damnit! Those guys were the original Five Robot Pilots!

It's the "every other decade" theory. The 70s were aweseome, the 80s were lame, the 90s rocked. And well, we all know this decade is pretty shitty.

Yep this decade gets a zero on the funameter. What with the politcal situation and the good TV networks going donw the drain. Anyone rember how great FOX and the WB used to be. They Rocked! Now look at them what with there reality shows and such. here's hoping the next decade is better. Come on 2010 make us smile again.

How would the world end? One big ass explosion? or something more along the lines of Revelations?

Probably both, at the same time. Razz

I dunno if the world's ending, man. Revelations says the world will end, but not when.

Although it may or may not be soon. I am no doomsayer, nor a false prophet. Or even a prophet. Razz

Tommy Lee was my hero for banging Pamilla Anderson alone, finding out he was part of the Crue was just an add-on bonus. ^_^ Anyone see his "Tommy Lee goes to College" miniseries? Gold.
